Corvina e Corvinone veronese 70%, Rondinella 30%. Traditional drying of the grapes began in late September, with extreme care exercised to maintain clean, healthy grapes throughout the process. Deep garnet red color tinged with purple. Heady, spicy bouquet with intense, multy-layered aromas of ripe cherry, bitter almond and toasty vanilla. Opulent silky texture, with full, rich flavors in the mouth carrying throught to a very lenghty, pleasantly bitter finish.

Traditionally combined with game or venison, grilled or braised meat, very old cheeses. To try also for meditation. To uncork an hour before serving, serve in large glass, at the temperature of 18-20°C.

Quite possibly my favourite red, I absolutely love Amarone! Especially this one from Giuseppe Campagnola Winery, such seduction should be appreciated only with the right lips. After a thorough decanting there is this beautiful scent of caramelisation even before it hits the bottom of your glass (don't you dare spill a drop!!). She hits your senses right away with a touch of anise, a drop of cassis and tobacco and a lathering of Sundried raisin with plenty of juicy goodness yet to come. On the palate she starts soft with silky oak qualities and cherry tartness but finishes with an abrupt yet "me first" quality, dry and leaving you wanting more. Do NOT share!!

Dense and chocolaty with very heady fig/cocoa aromas and opulent full bodied chocolaty palate seamless balanced. True to style. "Very very good", said one judge.

Raymond Chan 18.5+/20

Very full, very dark, near saturated black-red with purple hues. The nose is very finely concentrated and intense with aromas of black fruits, dark herbs, graphite and minerals, with complexing notes of black cherries and tar emerging in glass. Dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, this has an elegantly sized but intensely packed palate of black berry and cherry fruits with notes of liquorice, soy sauce and spicy oak. The flavours are rich, near succulent, and driven with elevated levels of acidity. Fruit and oak tannins are significant in the mouthfeel and linearity of the wine, which has a long finish with sweetness evident. This is a contemporary Amarone with intense black fruit and liquorice flavours, along with spicy oak and racy freshness. Serve with slow-cooked game meat and with hard cheeses over the next 10-12+ years. 18.5+/20
